With the capabilities of AI increasing, we’ve been spending time investigating how it can be used to help our client fashion brands.
We already know that i.LEVEL significantly assists fashion brands with their day-to-day operations, from production right through to retail sales.
But can we harness AI in a way that helps brands further improve sales, optimise stock and reduce wastage?
That’s the million dollar question.
The key issues?
- Model costs already vary by 2,900%, from $0.10 per million tokens for Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite to $3.00 for Claude 3.5 Sonnet. That means we need to select the model with great care, especially with AI prices set to soar as Silicon Valley investors look to see returns.
- The best AI models still hallucinate. How can we ensure that the information we present to our clients is accurate? We will have to build in ‘fact checking’ with bullet-proof guardrails.
- Some of the best AI models are being banned. The Trump administration has restricted Claude Fable 5, hailed as the best AI ever released, and now ChatGPT 5.6 is only being released to select U.S. government-approved partners before any wider launch. It raises a more profound question: if an AI belongs to a third party, what is the Plan B if it is taken down?
- The UK is building its own Sovereign LLM for critical sectors, one with zero dependence on foreign infrastructure. It’s a partnership with numerous blue chip UK organisations such as Lloyds Bank, NatWest, BT, BAE Systems, HSBC, etc. It is due to go live at the end of 2026. Is this worth waiting for, and would it be easy to transition to when live?
What we can say is this: our clients have in-depth data covering every aspect of their operations, at a granular level.
This data is what underpins i.LEVEL and what makes our platform so powerful.
We believe that AI can crunch this data and give our brands additional insights that they previously didn’t know of, which can be used to increase sales and improve profitability.
The key for us is the security of the data; the reliability of the AI; the depth of insights we can glean; and the price.
We’re working on it. Hard.
